ROCKIE MOUNTAIN HIGH

My bride and I arrived in Colorado Springs 5 days ago, invited here to attend a marriage conference, our first in the 32 years we've been together. The venue our conference host selected was the famed Broadmoor Hotel, nestled among the foothills of the Rockie Mountains aside Cheyenne Mountain.

For as long as I can remember, my lady has loved the mountains. There is something healing and majestic about being in the mountains. They inspire a sense of largeness, opening oneself up to more than the everyday humdrum that life offers....a sort of calling up to greatness.

I want to share our view outside our 7th floor room as we opened the drapes this morning:

Just as I opened the west door to take all of this in and inhale some crisp cold air, the Westminster Chimes of the Will Rogers Shrine to the Sun began playing Home on the Range. AMAZING! I love that song, have loved it since I was a child. What a gift for my heart!

Now, I share this with you.
